Left Hand or Right?

Could anyone solve a puzzle for me, I am at present renewing the bushes on the front suspension on my 1953 Javelin, I started on the nearside and discovered that the
upper link bracket had RH stamped on the casting. I then checked the offside bracket and that had LH stamped on it. I am puzzled because the 1952 parts book states
" The letters RH and LH used in conjuction with the description of parts refer to the right or left hand side of the driver when seated in the driving position". The
brackets are not interchangable because of the bolt fixing the steering box. It isn`t a problem, just wondered why .
