Just tried the search facility

There is some help on the Gallery itself and on Jowett.net 'Help ' page; but please add more if you think it will help others. See also the Gallery & Manuals section below.

Just tried the search facility

Post by Alastair Gregg »

Keith, I just tried the search facility in the gallery (newly wallpapered section), works a treat. I keyed in 8hp and 7 separate images came up. Good work; those decorators know a thing or two. :D
Compliments of the Season,

The search facility does require contributors to put text into the summary, description or keywords. It does not recognise 8hp cars yet from the image. But give us time!

Searching the Gallery . . . and more!

Post by Leo Bolter »

It does seem a shame to me that when people contribute images etc. to the Gallery that a great many don't rename the pictures from that which was given by the camera. It would be SO helpful if they would use the keywords and also the comment facility to describe what's happening and where, in the image. This would make the whole Gallery much more interesting and "searchable" I would think.

I so often have a bit of a browse, but almost all of the images are meaningless to me in regards to where, when and who. Okay if you were there I guess.

As you say Keith, the Gallery is not yet capable of recognising the models of the cars by "face recognition" yet! It really does need people input.

Yours sincerely, grizzly Leo!

Drummond said the John Johnstone did not find anything when searching for gearbox, could this be why?

I typed gearbox into 'search box' and got 22 results.

Please note you must be in home folder 'JowettGallery' to search all the albums as the search only looks at the current albums and all albums contained within the album you are currently looking at.
