Fleet Reduction

Just emptied and waved goodbye to the works hack for the last 3 + years - the leasing company have had enough of funding replacement clutches ( 3 in 140,000 miles ) although it got extensive use in site towing & 4 wheel drive - it also managed to go a through a complete rear axle & diff, front drive shafts, air con pump and a couple of duel mass flywheels in its time - some cheaply conceved and built double cab - pretend 4 x 4 then ? well actually a £23k Nissan Navara !! - Unsure what the replacement is going to be yet as the company I work for have just reviewed their vehicle policy and they are thinking that I can work out the boot of a hatchback ! (This is going to fun trying to jump start a 20 ton excavator from a VW golf in the middle of a bog ridden field) - I will let you know how I get on.

Isnt that a polite way of saying the bloody bean counters who have never steped out behinf their desk, except to refill their coffe cup, are making calls according to the balance sheet?

Go toyota....I ask , why is it for the last few decades if one goes into the Aussie outback, thats all you will find.
Why is there a huge suggling market internationall to the middlr east of toyotas ?
Like the Bradford was in its day in NZ, it moved everything from flowers to feeding out on the farm, in its day...and now toyota is the #1 choice?

A freind (services heavy equipment out in the forestry) just before xmas had his toyota 4x4 replaced with a nissan 4x4 6 and turbo..nice to drive, comfortable, but even on a highway trip is getting less than 12 mpg.
