Bristol Crawler for sale

This last weekend I accidentally found what appears to be a 'fully restored' Jowett engined Bristol Crawler.
Problem is it was dropped when it was delivered to the present owner and the engine cracked off at the bell housing.
However, there is a spare crankcase and crankshaft in apparently useable condition that would be included in the sale.
I will contact the owner to get details of real condition, price and other details, if anyone is interested.
It lays under cover on the Kent / Sussex border.
Post any interest and I will make further enquiries.

Ian, it would be good to have the details etc so that the register can be updated

Paul (and anyone else interested): -
I will get more details when I next visit the vendor. I fully intend to go back as he has the most FANTASTIC collection of rusty bits that I have seen in years! Not much Jowett though, just the crawler.
However he has been 'caught' by an irresponsible correspondent for a collectors magazine in the past that resulted in dozens of phone calls and people turning up on his doorstep when the stuff was NOT FOR SALE! So he is understandably very reticent about business.
It is his private collection and although it appears to be neglected the 'good' stuff (including the crawler) is under cover and in many cases well oiled.
Keep watching.

Paul (again - and anyone else interested): -
Apart from the Jowett engine number, what details might be of interest to the Register or Bristol Crawler enthusiasts?
Would the tractor have a chassis number of its own?
Where might I find it?
Anything else??

All that we have recorded in the register are engine numbers, but John Stockwell tells me that the crawlwes all had serial numbers. I am not aware where these are positioned.
I would guess that there is a brass plate somewhere!

Correct! Ihe Bristol Crawler club has told me where to look - when I EVENTUALLY get to see the collection again!
Keep watching.
