Re: I should know better at my age
On the weekend I was looking at my floor & found it was not bolted down as nuts were missing.
Also some of the bolt holes had not been drilled into the floor.
I bought a packet of cage nuts & another of T nuts . This will stop nuts falling off & makes removing the floor a one man job.
Does anyone have the correct dimensions for a Bradford floor as mine is not correct.

It was probably made to fit by shaving off edges to get it in. Make a template out of cardboard and trial fit before cutting ply.

There is a metal angle piece that joins them together, I don't have one out of a car, so no photo, but from memory they have cage nuts on them and the ply is held with 1/4 inch Whitworth countersunk screws.

Re: I should know better at my age
Thanks it has been a good help.
On carbs again, all my Bradford throttle shafts are worn.
I have pulled shafts out of numerous carbs & found VIG-3 are the closest, though slightly longer.
Javelin do not fit as the shafts are designed differently.
I can't buy Bradford shafts but can get 30VIG-3 kits.
The photo shows javelin & Bradford on the left with VIG on the right.
Still considering converting to SU due to parts availability.

throttle spindle silver solder
I have used silver solder on throttle shafts to replace wear as well as very carefully reaming new sleeves in body.

Re: I should know better at my age
I bought some mirrors for my Bradford.
Others note it was cheaper to buy them from a hotrod shop than
A classic car supplier. Same mirrors just higher price.

Re: I should know better at my age
I have wheel aligned my Bradford, & found that the front axle & back axle were not parallel..easy fix.
The rear springs had different heights, this is corrected by me sitting in the driver's seat.
Worst problem is that the kingpin angle is different by 3 degrees from left to right, which means a bent axle.
I intend to drive it before making a judgement of this decrepencies criticality. I can find every steering angle for my Jupiter but nothing for my Bradford. Does anyone know the kingpin angle?

Re: I should know better at my age
When I bought my car the only thing missing was the wiper arm.i pulled out the wiper motor to service & found it was 6 volt; my car is 12 volt. I only had a Bosch 12 volt motor as a spare.
Servicing it I found the grease had gone hard to the consistency of soft plastic.cleaning & lubrication has it running well.
Next problem was the shaft is not 1/4, so going through my piles of wipers I made an arm & blade out of numerous parts.
Nothing is ever simple.

Re: I should know better at my age
I had to 3d print the mounting blocks for the wiper motor.
3d printing is amazing.
