thanks for the ideas, looked at those suggested , and still not sure,reading one of the posts about being stopped and checked by police doesnt sound appealing as I live in a very small community with "local bobbies" might be worth speaking to them before deciding, I have some experience when it comes to the wiring and am working in conjunction with Drummond Black who is, Im sure you all know ,a veritable goldmine when it comes to this sort of stuff, plus it means I am becoming very familiar with this car which is proving to be a delight,,,, so far!!!!!

Tony has noticed a bonnet badge on ebay, can you clarify if it is now sorted, if it is this type you need or the longer red enamelled badge?

If it is the red badge you need to replace, you may find that if your surround is ok, that you can remove the two enamelled badges from the front of another without too much difficulty - this makes the task of finding a good one easier, because you can take the good enamelled bits from one badge and the surround from another. You have to remove the badge from the car to unbend the tabs, but this is fairly straightforward with the right sized socket.
