Dear Isleofthanet,

Thought you might like to know that phot jc10.jpg, I feel certain, was taken on The Green, Westerham! My birthplace!! The statue is of General Wolfe, who captured Quebec.

All the best,

David

It's a small world.

If Leo Bolter's Jupiter and has not strayed far from home, then it almost certainly is the car I last saw driven by a fellow called "Pup" Barker in Christchurch in 1957. It was a silvery blue or green then.

It was a couple of years before this that I first exceeded 60mph in any car. But this was in a Javelin on the Hastings-Napier road and an experience of which I have fond memories and a feat of celerity bordering on the maniacal given the state of NZ roads at the time. I imagine they may have improved since then.
