Just wondering if any one can direct me towards clubs or forums to do with Leyland Cubs.
Im looking for more information, pics & Factory Service manuals to help with a possible restoration of a 1934 Cub at a railway musesum.

Chris / James - Along with many other interests I have always retained a passion for vintage commericals of all types - Leyland Cubs were popular in the UK more in Bus or fire engine configuraration than in truck bodied. There are at least two fire engines in preservation along with several coach / bus bodied chassis preserved in the UK. You may find the following list of some help.

London Transport Muesum has a preserved Cub coach which is in their Acton depot collection - pics available via a flickr site link on the web page - fleet no C94 registration no CLE 122 - they have a large image / library file so maybe able to help you - http://www.ltmuesum.co.uk

Try http://www.countrybus.org/c/cub.html for images / information on coach / bus bodied chassis

I have found mention that the following company are very good in sourcing / supply of engine parts for the Cub - http://www.ashpoles.co.uk

The Historic Commerical Vehicle Society are long established in the UK and have a large image / reference library http://www.hvcs.co.uk

There is a preserved Cub with a coach body in a private collection 'Crawley Riddley Collection' in Hawkes Bay NZ - unsure on how you make contact here but would be worth the effort to gain the images / reference that you may need

I know it is non Jowett but are you able to post a pic for interest - how is it bodied ??? - or just PM me with the details if you feel we may bore the rest of the forum with such detail

Good luck - Chris

Heres a few pics of what it looked like back in 1934

This is what it looks like now.

I would love to see it restored to how it looked originally... but in the mean time it may just get repaired and repainted looking as it looks now as a overhead inspection vehical.

This is probably unique - it would look something else restored in it's original guise

Thats what I would be very kean to have happen.
Ofcourse it would be costly and come down to funding.
It has been repowered with a beford 6 cylinder. We thought we had a engine but we think its off a Leyland Lynx Truck.
Just by the looks of things the lynx engine maybe be to big to fit into the cub.
