A question that is often asked on me is what colour should the wire grille in front of the radiator be?
I really do not know the answer to this. I assume that Utility Deluxe Radiator grills were Catalina Tan. Were the grills generally Body colour (one school of thought), Black (another school of thought - but to my mind makes them invisible), Cream (another school of thought) or even Zinc or nickel (surely too expensive!) plated.
Anyone actually know?

Radiator grille colour
The export models had chromed grille and headlights.
And twelve volt electrical system.
At least all the Utility DeLuxe Bradfords in Finland in the beginning of the fifties were.
The steering wheel was also "wire-spoked???" (whatever the correct word might be). The lorry and the van had black grilles and headlights and three-spoked aluminium black simple steering wheel.

What is diff on the export filters? I have a few spares here in ZNZ and they where orginally black. The export models all had the export air filters.in LHD etc.
I have a rather deteriated matching numbers truck here, the exhast , well what is left of it...and repairs extended the life...goes to the back...it also came with the remains of another that went to the back...Now the exhaust was there any factory standard systems that were fitted through to the rear of the vehicle as mine is.
The pics of my parents van, taken around 1948) also show the exhaust to the back...
Keep in mine many of the parts in NZ where made locally, althu assembled CKD, I dont know if the exhaust was to...
I will check the grills in the shed for colour tommorrow.
