I am back again to ask for some photographic examples of Short Two setups. Mostly what I need to see is the strangler setup and cable routing back through the firewall to the interior. I do not have any reference and cannot see another Short in person. I am guessing that the choke/strangler is engaged from the middle of the dashboard with cable that goes down through that rectangular box under the bonnet. I can see the eustachian on the radiator, but no other evidence of where the cable goes from carb to the driver.
Second, I need an image that shows what is normally mounted to the firewall driver side under the bonnet. I see mounting holes on the firewall.
Lastly, if someone could share an image of the brass identifying plate that is on the driver side of the firewall. I see screw mounts, But I do not know what the plate looks like.
Thanks!

Re: Requests for some Short Two images
Hi Keith - So here are some general images taken recently of a Short 2 that is now in the hands of new owners
Hopefully these images will answer most of the questions that you have raised - The choke / strangler pull has always been on the right of the dashboard on the vintage Jowetts that I have been involved with - the strangler cable tends to be just that - a thin wire that travels from the bulkhead and then to a 90 degree turn by the radiator before connecting to the strangler cowl - quite often modified by various owners over the car life - you may have to fit a return spring to pull the cable / strangler to fully open too as the strangler spring is quite often not strong enough to ensure its return - If you require any further detailed images let me know and I'll get someone to take them (I don't personally own a Short 2 but we have several members that have that I'm in contact with) - The identifying plates are available from JCS as blanks if yours is missing - you can stamp the cars engine / chassis number into it - If they don't have one I do that I can forward to you

Re: Requests for some Short Two images
Chris,
This is very helpful. It is interesting that the cable seems to enter the driver seat just under the vestigial oil pressure device. I will look for a locking pull handle that can connect to the wire. That is basically what I thought the setup was like. I just needed to know where it normally enters the cockpit.
I definitely need an ID plate. I will ask spares about them and a few other things. I have some finagling to do to get the carb correct and better (and get it ready for the cover/strangler). I'll be working to get that over the winter too.
Thank you so much for the information! It was very helpful -- again!
