WANTED: Javelin Door Handle
I am helping a friend who is seeking a Javelin exterior door handle for the drivers door (the one with a lock). Any condition would be of interest, even incomplete as we have a broken one.

Re: WANTED: Javelin Door Handle
Hi Amilcar John,
You are seeking a very rare animal. These are more difficult to find than hen's teeth! However all is not lost. I believe the early Ausrin Healey 3000 Mk1 used similar handles? Have a look at eBay number 304237276713, but it looks like they didn't use the locking version?
Some years ago, I had a look at a large quanity of Javelin spares that a dealer in Bath had imported from Sweden. He was normally in the business of importing used wood burning stoves, but had come across this horde of Javelin spares, along with a complete car and had imported the lot. It must have been a couple of tonnes of spares. It was a very mixed bag, you name it and there were several. What attracted me was a box of completely new driver's door handles, complete with keys and wrapped in tissue paper. Almost beyond price!
I tried to prise these jewels from the horde, as the dealer didn't really know how rare they were. But he wasn't having any deal. It was a case of buying the lot or nothing. I didn't have the £1500 or so he was asking for the horde. Don't know what happened to these spares. I contacted JCS at the time and they may have found their way north, but I lost touch.
I expect someone has a driver's door up in their loft with a handle that could be rescued?
Good hunting!
All the best,
David

Re: WANTED: Javelin Door Handle
Hello John. Do you still need a drivers door handle? I have two but 1) both require replating and removal of typical ugly blistering in the casting and 2) shipping from Australia is costly. Regards Mac

Re: WANTED: Javelin Door Handle
Hi Peter,
I believe ( but may be wrong ) that the Austin Healey 100-6 used the same door handles as a Javelin. There's a passenger side one on eBay at the moment and it looks right? I don't know if JCS keep them? Might be worth asking? Otherwise, why not try the AH club? They might be able to help?
All the best,
David
