Laminated windscreens were required for US import and my Javelin has one. The Canadian imports did not.
The rubber gasket has no locking bead, but has two lips to hold a chromed metal finisher. I could not find an exact gasket back in 1988 and the one I used just barely holds onto the finisher. 30 years on and it's time for a new one.

Excellent news that laminated windscreens are now in the pipeline. I shall replace my crummy old toughened one as soon as....all the old ones are scratched to buggery - and we'll no longer have go through the tedious 'from the inside' rigmarole of the fitting the original type. These cars deserve it!
