James - did you get any responses? If not, I am wondering if JCS could get some made?

Sorry James but I don't have any vintage bits now.
I do have four pressed steel ones with attached short downpipes for the '30s 7hp engine.
Tony.

I know this is a daft question and will only serve to demonstrate my ignorance
but are these common size to Javelin?

Hello Paul.
I don't know, but the manifolds on the pre-war drop vertically from the cylinder.
Even when turned 90 degrees, the attached pipe isn't of sufficient radius to join one Javelin engine bank to the other with a new bit of pipe between them.
Much easier to source a new/second hand Javelin front pipe from JCS.
The gasket size might be the same but JCS will be able to confirm. Tony.

Hello again James,
I've been clearing out some Jowett spares that haven't seen the light of day for years.
Did you source some exhaust flanges?
Maybe I have a couple of the sort you want which I'd forgotten about.
If you still need them, I'll photograph the ones I have and post them here.
Tony.

Re: wanted -exhaust flange stub
Hello James.
I have found 3 exhaust flange stubs with attached short lengths of pipe. They all have the solid flange. The bolt-hole to bolt-hole centre measurement is 2 and 5/16".
There is a pair, each with about 60cm of pipe attached, and a separate one with a shorter length of pipe, together with a flange having a rather rotten pipe stub attached. (The flange itself is ok.) Let me know what you think. A normal email will suffice, without posting here. Details and telephone number in membership list.
Regards,
Tony.

Re: wanted -exhaust flange stub
Hello again James.
I still have the flanges etc. on the garage floor.
If you are not interested, then post it here and I'll put them on the shelf again.
I'm sure someone you know in the Club will give you my private email address if necessary.
Alternatively, as you are a JowettTalk member, I wonder if perhaps you can send me a private email through JowettTalk.

Re: wanted -exhaust flange stub
Sorry chaps I clearly dont check this enough.
Those centres are a little wide for my early barrels. I think if I file the holes close to each other I may give myself a problem passing the nut hex past, even with the nut extensions.
I am going to just fabricate my own and get Tony Law (Leeds, exhaust specialist) to do the bends for me.
Thankyou for digging them out and taking the trouble.
Cheers, James
