Jowett 7-17 H.P. Light Car Instruction Book
Fellow Jowett Enthusiasts!
Attached is a ‘restored’ version of the instruction book for the 7-17 H.P. Jowett Light Car. I fully understand that the majority of you do not own a 7-17 H.P. Jowett, however, reading this Instruction Book will reveal the way such books were written almost one-hundred years ago. Particularly delightful, for me, is the wiring diagram. That diagram clearly illustrates how different such diagrams are for the modern motor car – if published at all.
There is no publication date in the book, however, within the text there was a clue – ’during the sixteen years they have been before the public . . .’ indicates that the date could be 1926. The book is in remarkable condition, unlike those for Javelin and Jupiter, which feature oily finger prints (or oil drips/spills) on certain pages.
The Chapter covering the Electrical System, illustrates that this was the ‘new’ way!
Please take the time to read the entire book. It is all interesting.
Very likely, it is such ‘restorations’ that are keeping me sane in these modern times!
Best wishes,
Mike A.
