AN INVITATION to the 36th ANNUAL REUNION
SATURDAY August 13th 2022. Please note it in your diary now!
This is your personal invitation to come along in your Jowett (or modern car) and be present
at the Annual Reunion of former employees with members of the Jowett Car Club.
The event is organised by a small group of Northern Section members, and consists of a noncompetitive display attracting typically around 50 Jowett vehicles from many club sections. It
is a popular social gathering, providing the opportunity for former employees to see some of
the Jowetts they helped to build. You will be made very welcome.
The Reunion is held at the Bradford Industrial Museum, Moorside Road, Eccleshill,
Bradford, BD2 3HP. Brown tourist information signs may help to locate it.
Moorside Road is off the A658, less than a mile north from its junction with the A6117 Ring
Road at Undercliffe.
Please aim to arrive from 11.00 am. PLEASE NOTE – this year we must ‘share’ the Museum
with the public but Jowett vehicles may park anywhere within the museum grounds. There are
a limited number of spaces for Disabled Badge holders.
Modern cars should use the large amount of on street parking by the museum.
CAVALCADE, there is the OPTION for JOWETT vehicles to take part in a Cavalcade to
the Museum from the former factory site at Idle, now Morrison’s Supermarket. Jowetts
involved should be in place by 10.15 a.m. in the designated coned- off area of Morrison’s
car park, adjacent to the Norman Avenue exit. Controlled departures will commence from
10.45 am as directed by marshals. Please let me know when you reply indicating your wish
to take part, but PLEASE NOTE that we may be obliged to restrict numbers. If so, places will
be allocated on the basis of the ORDER OF RECEIPT of replies.
Activities and refreshments, on arrival, members are invited to ‘sign-in’ at the welcome
point and collect tickets for the light refreshments. These will be served by ladies of the
Northern Section in the former horse emporium at the museum. Follow the signs and please
bring your tickets!
Raffle and tombola, please help by donating prizes which are most welcome prior to, or on
arrival. Tickets will be on sale during the day and the raffle will be drawn in the afternoon.
Memorabilia, it is hoped that there will be a display of club archives/photos provided by our
club Librarian, Noel Stokoe and items brought by former employees and members. Please
bring your own favourite items to share.
Jowett Car Club Shop, Sharon and Chris will be bringing the newly reorganised and
consolidated shop, so take advantage of this opportunity to browse the merchandise.

Seats on site, a limited number of seats will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your
own folding chairs.

will find interesting displays and exhibits of Bradford’s industrial past including wool textile
spinning and weaving etc., steam engines, and printing. The Transport Gallery includes a
double-deck tram, trolley bus, steam locomotive and yes, there’s a section devoted to the
largest public collection of Jowetts on permanent display in the world.
Departure is at a time of your choice. The Jowett’s normally start to leave around
