Hi the bonnet badge on my 1953 Javelin has fell off.
It seems it has only been held on by the bonnet strip overlap.
The badge is blank except for 2 tapped screw holes.
I checked in the bonnet nose and its empty no screws clips ect.
Does anyone have info how the badge was originally fixed.
Thanks Barry

Re: Javelin bonnet badge
Barry - Pretty sure is a cup type washer through which 2 machine screws fasten the badge from the rear through slotted holes on the bonnet - the slotted holes allow for alignment adjustment - Its an awkward job and requires removal of the air filter box to allow access - I'll have a look to see if I have any images of the fitment

may help.
They may also be a better pic elsewhere in the topic. As Chris says it requires great dexterity to fix.

Re: Javelin bonnet badge
Have re fixed the Jowett bonnet badge. I found it easier to fit 2BA threaded rod in the badge holes.
I then used a quarter drive socket on a flexible socket bar. With the air filter removed i could reach inside the bonnet nose. I taped the spacer washer and nut at the end of the socket then reached in and screwed the nuts on a bit tricky but it worked.
I would have thought Jowett would have used an easy way of fixing like arrow clips so the badge could be snapped on.
Was lucky the badge didn't fall of on the road.
