2022 Jowett Annual Weekend , Stratford upon Avon, 27-29 May

We deliberated long and hard over this and following discussion with club Chairman, Paul, decided to go ahead with the traditional weekend although it is not the official Bank Holiday this year. The main thought being that members might have divided options between the Rally and own local/community events which they would like to be involved with on the official day. We felt that this placates both issues. It is still being classed as a three day event with shoulder nights available.
THE LOCATION:- Final hotel details are still being thrashed out, the “duck herding” (May Jowetteer) has not got a lot easier. Hopefully come May 17th, things will become more constructive when we at last meet hotel senior management.
One of the problems we are facing is how many bed/function rooms do we require to contract. In view of the previous cancelled two rallies we do not have a lot of data to base our requirements on. We know all about Grantham but such a lot has happened since then including the Bank Holiday change.
We are of course hoping that the membership will be eagerly awaiting a NJR and looking forward to meeting up again and will support it.
Had 2021 taken place, 2022 forms would have been available and bookings taken which would have given a bit of a clue. Pressure is now building up from hotels because obviously with so many weddings and other functions cancelled there is a demand for new dates in 2022.
With the help of Keith, a very basic questionnaire will be sent out via email for response online to the membership, which will be simply:- “All things being equal, is it your intention to attend the 2022 NJR, one, two or three days?”
By doing it this way we should get a quicker response, for which we thank you in anticipation. It is not binding but will give us that basis to work on.
Favourable rates are being negotiated and full information will be presented in our future monthly up dates.
CONCOURS: As previously advised this will take place at Charlecote Park, a National Trust property near Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. More information regarding access etc will follow.
