I installed wheel cylinders from this company and found that one had a crack in the casting and fluid leaked out. This apparently is quite common and dangerous. So be very wary of any remanufactured brake parts and always check for leaks after installation and regularly during use. Fitting a brake fluid warning indicator is a good idea.
As well as brake components Pastpartsalso rebuild master cylinder (BADLY) .

I would definitely avoid Past Parts. I had a master cylinder rebuilt by them which had a flat recuperating washer, grit in the sleeve , ridges on the piston and no grease in the belows. I returned it and the replacement had a deep scour on the piston caused probably when the lathe tool was retracted. Normally I rebuild the M/Cs from parts from NZ and will continue to do so in future. Happy to do for others on an exchange basis.

Re: Brake parts
Thanks,
'Reconditioned' parts like brake cylinders can be a problem. The wheel cylinders in my Jupiter have had stainless steel sleeves fitted. One point I have noticed is that the pistons are rather loose in the bores, makes me wonder what the original clearance was, but I am sure they were not so loose originally.
Finding cracks in such repaired components is disturbing, particularly for those who do not know what to watch out for.
Regards,
Mike A.

Re: Brake parts
The cylinders in question were not reconditioned but newly manufactured. This is a general warning about all parts that are not original equipment to take great care when installing. Of course OEM Jowett parts suffer from other issues and need an equal amount of care.
