If the Sports Jowett was tuned up as it says in the advertising stuff, then did they fit an extra carb? I think they were bound to fit a carb on each cylinder but i dont think any underbonnet pictures are available.
Does anyone know?

Firstly James, what amazing footage! How did you find it? Fantastic to see that Jowett pull away with such power! Specs don't appear to exist, however, in one of the Jowett books, Canney details some of the mechanical aspects of his car which makes interesting reading. He didn't mention twin carbs but I believe he used a solex from what I remember. Also increased compression, '...could barely fit a cigarette paper between the top of the piston and the cylinder...' !

Further to my previous post, if you have Noel Stokoe's book, 'Sporting Jowetts' there is a section on W S Canney on pages 52 where he describes his modifications.

It is too bad that the film is not accessible for those of us outside the UK
