Jowett gearbox on eBay

Post by Tony Fearn »

This looks interesting, and at the price it could be a bargain as it's a 'buy it now price'.
Have a look at all the photos.
Perhaps someone local could collect it and ship it through the internal Jowett system.
It might take some time to reach you, but hey-ho.
Tony.

Hi Tony

I bought a 4 speed box and some steering parts to fit my new axle from this chap some time ago. Very friendly and nice to deal with

I'm not sure which model this comes from, but it has a fibre 3 point flexible disc on the end of the output shaft, and an early fixing point on the rear of the casing.
Sufficient to say that when I needed a 'new' first gear on my 1927 Long Two, (known to all as 'Dolly), as it kept jumping out of that gear because the teeth on it looked like commas, it cost me, through Jowett Car Spares, about 15 years ago, £247 to have a replacement second-hand first gear cog fitted by them.
Enough said.
If this offering looks like your gearbox, just think on this. £25 pales into insignificance if you are getting an almost complete item.
I must stress that I have no knowledge of who the vendor is and have no contact with them.
Tony.
