Just noticed that the time stamp on posts is dispalying BST, did someone forget to tell the cloud server about the change?

- Your interest in the forum: I now own Javelin E0 10010 (formerly Robin Fairservice's car in British Columbia). I spent some time figuring out a terrible racket in the engine and it will be used in the summers, alongside my collection of British obscurities (well, they are obscure here in N America).
I'll be looking for technical help, spares, and the sort. - Given Name: Tom

Re: Talk Time
I believe this is a per user setting. If you go to edit your profile, then choose board preferences, it will show you what time zone you have selected. I don’t see an option for automatic application of daylight saving time.

Re: Talk Time
I will investigate. The forum should not have changed but the underlying operating system may need a tweek as it is new. Thanks. But Tom is correct.
The OS is running in Switzerland as it was chosen for security reasons. That might have a bearing.
Or maybe the Cloud runs on UTC and I need to tweak the OS.
I had a similar problem on Member Services a couple of years back when registrations would time out on DST.

Re: Talk Time
This is what Member Services says.
. Please click the link to view.
Your last session closed at GMT Sun, 07 Nov 2021 06:16:08 +0000 or your time zone Sun, 07 Nov 2021 06:16:08 +0000.
So it got the time zone of the OS and me correct, but it got the fact my session closed wrong. It seems member services is recording the closed time half hour after it started rather than when it actually closed. Surprised nobody noticed this before!
But I need to get onto the server to check it all out.
The server is correctly set to UTC or GMT, if you prefer.

Closing time
Do not worry you do not have to drink up.
It was a long time ago I wrote the code for Member services , so whether it was expediancy, laziness or good logic for the way the member services closing time is set, I do not now know.
Most people anyway do not log out as they should do and just let the session time out. I may add some code to the log out program to set the time correctly.
