Re: Kings Langley meet Sat Aug 21st
Kings Langley Garage meet. Dom Bell, Nick Lunt, Mark Chessell came around 10.00 and Bob Dixon came later . We had a look at the underside of my SA looking at the suspension and overdrive. Then looked at the liner sinkage and used the endoscope. Lots of questions answered including electronic ignition and distributor advance curves. Then we dug out the rear axle and proceeded to try and get it turning. Much effort, WD40 and heat required. We used JowettTalk to look at and search the vast technical knowledge there for answers.
Bob left at lunchtime but the four of us enjoyed ourselves until 18.00. Finally getting the adjuster to return to zero by taking it out and putting it in the vice so we could get the drum back on. Nudity warning!
The picture on the screen is how to fit the brake shoes correctly, but you may be looking at something else! Video The threads being cleaned with a die nut. One of the green springs had to be replaced because it had been shortened in the past.
Amy also arrived with Lauren who checked out the credentials of the crew and their suitability for tummy rubs.
