Choke Cable

Post by Nick Webster »

I have been changing my Deluxe model choke cable because the one fitted was too short and was not secured properly at the far end. However, I now find that at the top end, the knob is nearly touching the speedo trip reset. Either the mileage reset spindle is too long or perhaps somebody in the past might have bent the bracket for some reason, Can some kind soul post an under the dashboard picture of the relationship between the choke knob and the speedo?

Thanks in advance

This might help but the dash on Amy's Jav is not standard.

Thanks, Keith. I should have said "second type of wooden dashboard" really but never the less, your photo shows the bracket clearly and that it is not set at an angle. I guess that the later arrangment of instruments was done in spite of the close proximity of speedo trip and choke knob.
