Javelin rear shockers

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but Cortina Mk3 rear shockers fit Javelin. I fitted pair last week. Bushes no use, unless you have time to machine them out a bit, so used the old ones which were still servicable. At the same time I replaced the old axle locating arms, with the new ones that both Bill Lock and JC Spares offer.

When I first got car back on road after restoration (1996) after trying Viva front shockers - useless but right physical size - I bought a pair of adjustable ones from Bill, much better. Coupled with the radial tyres it handles very well.[/b]

What would be a good front adjustable for the Jupiter?

I bought both front and rear shocks from Bill Lock. The only unexpected things I had to do were have the top bushing on the front shocks reamed out, and reduce the width of the bushings at the bottom. Bill recommended settings for both the front and rear shocks which I used, and I have not fiddled with them. Incidentally, I also needed to replace the Panhard rod at the rear. I had one fabricated out of solid material at a local machine shop at a cost of $120.

The shocks are manufactured by SPAX. I have raced and rallied on them for at least 10 years. They even survived 100kph over the Saharan piste!

Are you saying I have bent the king pins and the springs? Probably true, the Jup has been over many yumps, carried 6 passengers in the student days and towed the trailer tent for many years. Poor old girl.
