After a trail run to members of three clubs introducing the service this post allows you to definatively subscribe to one or more of the regional jowett.net newsletters.
Click this link to make your choice.
Note that you can unsubscribe by clicking a link at the bottom of one of the newsletters.
The form also allows you to have your contact detail on a geographical map so that members, especially new members, are able to contact you.
The members' map is only accessible to a member of an affiliated club (not to someone who is just a user of JowettTalk) as they have to view the map using the Members' Services. Your name, email and phone number will be shown when your flag that is on the map is clicked. Another member will thus be able to contact you. This is a great way of building up a local group of enthusiasts as you can search for people on the map close to you. Barry Harding in WA, AUS contacted me yesterday complaining there was only one member close to him!
It is also good if you are visiting another area and would like to make some new friends. I have used the method for seven years to visit Jowett enthusiasts in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Canada and Europe.
As the form explains, to locate you on the map ideally we would like the latitude and longitude which you can get in various ways. But you can always put in your postcode and zipcode and I will work it out.
Try this link for lat and long
Please paste the results with a separating space into the POSTCODE box.
I put this service into place after the success of the NZ lock down snippets sent by Lorna and Alan which highlighted that pushing news via email is better for some than pulling news from jowett.net But hey you can do both and get a double helping. If anyone has news they would like to push to a selection of members then they can use this vehicle. We will monitor how this works.
The service may also work for those who do not like the intrusion of Facebook. The newsletter is selective and not public.
Some may not be aware that there has always been a subscription service on JowettTalk where you can subscribe to forums and topics . Just go to your User Control Panel.
Newsletter subscription.
