Bradford Lubrication

Post by Langley »

Hi, new member here. I’ve been reading a lot of the posts - enlightening!

I own a 1953 Bradford and just going through the process of registration - the last time it was registered was 1968.

My question is: is there a list of oils and greases recommended for the Bradford?

Regards,

Bruce (Langley)

You could do with getting an instruction book - they come up on ebay
I presume your Bradford is a CC rather than a CB like mine but for that the book lists:
Engine - 4.5 pints - Castrol XL summer/Essolube 30 and Castrolite/Essolube 20 winter
Gearbox - 1.5 pints Castrol XXL/Essolube 40
Rear axle - 1 pint Castrol XT/Essoluve gear oil (SAE140)
Grease - Castrolease Heavy
Shock absorbers - Armstrong Super Thin Fluid

Hope that helps!

If you are a club member then you should have access to the JowettTalk Library where the manuals and loads of other useful articles are stored.

Bruce I have added you to Club Members and NZ groups so that you can see the Library. I was confused by the sign off of Langley rather than Loader.
