Um, Err. Tongue in cheek time.
From the driver's seat, looking forwards, the crankshaft does indeed rotate in the counter-clockwise direction!
A bit over picky I know, but while working with combine harvesters and farm tractors, it was always a case of sitting in the driver's seat looking forwards, for front, rear, left side and right side.
Same with ships, port side green, starboard side red - however, my hearing instruments are starboard side red, but port side blue, which confuses me a bit. Firing order of Jowett twin cylinder engines, easy - 'your side', 'my side'!
Cheers,
Mike Allfrey.
