Bonnet catches

Post by ian Howell »

Has anyone got a couple of serviceable bonnet catches and / or a speedometer that would suit / fit my 1930 Long Four? I don't really want 'new' ones as the car is not going to be pristine.

The catches are the type that have 3 holes in the mounting plate and fit over a 'button' that is rivetted to the bonnet side.

I have available: -

a genuine 'small' Jowett script from a post 1930 car (needs to have its mounting pins replaced)

a couple of restorable 'pots' with heads and valves that I think may be Bradford - I would check them over if anyone is interested.

a 'Y' pipe in serviceable condition - again probably Bradford (it doesn't fit my Long Four).

a 1930's gearbox that appears to be all working but has damage as follows: -

Gear lever broken off at ball (but all there), starter mounting casting broken, but all there for re-welding.

Any interest out there?
The devil is in the detail!
