Jowett overalls

Post by 114 »

Does anybody know of a source for these. I guess they are no longer available via the club?
Thanks and a very merry Christmas

Chris, Sharon and I discussed over Christmas as they were made for those working at the Restoration Show. I suggest you contact the Jowett Shopkeeper via the links at the top of the page.

Thanks. No luck there. Do you happen to know who made them?
I suspect they might be a popular 'regalia' item.

I'd love a pair. Would have thought this would be a good thing to sell in the shop.

We commissioned a batch a few years ago - Sharon is a professional costumier and has all the right contacts - after researching some of the original factory assembly line images - overalls & smocks were purchased in brown & white - these were professionally embroidered with the 'Jowett' scroll - they looked very much the part but at the time no one was prepared to pay the price for them - they were in the £35 - £45 region - we just sought to recover the costs and no profit was sought - in the end we donated the majority of the stock to restoration show team - we maybe have the odd new pair available but I would have to check first - a fresh batch could be ordered if sufficient interest was shown but you need to expect to pay somewhere in the £40 - £50 region to source good quality items with a professionally embroidered 'Jowett' logo - by comparison a pair of 'Goodwood' embroidered overalls are twice this price at £99 + postage - see link below

Alternatively you can purchase yourself a cheap pair of overalls from E Bay and stick a Jowett badge from the shop on them - just don't expect them to look anything has good as the ones that we professionally commissioned - Chris

I’d be interested too, if any remain or a new batch is considered.

£45 seems reasonable enough!

Now have now checked our stock and we have the following available in white only and all with the professionally embroidered 'Jowett' script logo in red - the logo is the full width of the rear centre panel of the overalls and measures approximately 25cm long x 10cm high - please see image
20190113_113345.jpg
Sizes available (refers to chest size in centimetres / length has described - but you could always reduce the leg length)

92 - Regular - 2 pairs available
104 - Tall - 2 pairs available
108 - Tall - 1 pair available

£35 a pair to clear + post & packing or can deliver to suitable Jowett event that we are attending free of charge

We can commission a fresh batch in brown if required but the minimum order is 5 pairs regardless of size hence would need orders to match this - price is likely to be in the £50 region

Please advise should you require any further information - Chris & Sharon

I'd like a pair if possible, 104/Tall, but I realise there are people ahead of me who have a prior call.
Will be at the rally.

Thanks
Andy

Sadly I lack Andy's stature

Can I check that only the leg length is different in the 'tall' versions? If so I am happy to buy a pair of the 104cm versions and alter to suit.
