Amy and Jen conspired for a memorable evening.
First, surprises at Amy's flat. All conspired to fool me.
Drummond and Ruby were in Amy's flat to greet me, closely followed by friend of 48 years, Dennis, and wife Carlyn. Champagne!
A limo but where were we going? I did not know till we arrived at the Savoy. Noticed what I thought was an E Type outside the entrance, covered up. Trevor Spero was cowering in the corner. I did not see him.
John Blankley and Annie, then Trevor Spero greeted me. But there was a spare chair. Who could it be?
Arriving last, John completed the surprises. John flew in from Australia, to meet Dennis he had not seen for 35 years. Three best men. I had met John on the JCCA rally last year. I had not seen him for 20 years.
So all my co-drivers and my best mates all together.
Birthday cake that I would kill for!
This was the last of 10 courses.
WOW. Unforgettable.

Jowett cake
The following week I turned my Jowett mechanical knowledge to the medium of victoria sponge to make a cake for dad's 60th. It took me til the early hours of the morning, but at least it looked like a Jupiter:
