I know, what the hell are they! Why not ask Jeeves or Google?
I have used the feature where you can add an avatar to your profile.
I have added a picture of my Jup in the Sahara Desert bombing through an oasis called Tasla.

To do this find a picture and then use Microsoft Paint or some other tool to reduce its size to 80 pixels by 80 pixels. Look at Image, Attributes (ctrlKey+E). If it is not the right size, use Image, Stretch/Skew and reduce the size by the desired percentage.

Then in your Forum Profile, browse for the file in the box under AVATAR.

Hi all.

If you "play with pictures" and want to resize them very easily, have a look at this wee application (for Windoze XP).

After installation you'll find that if you right click on an image, in the menu that appears is "Resize Pictures". Click on Resize Pictures. A dialoge box appears within which a simple choice of some standard sizes (or custom size ) can be made.

Make your size choice and the program does it's thing, makes a new file (keeps the original) and retains the images file name with the size in brackets . . . all in the original container folder.

Try it . . it's so simple . . . and you'll soon see what size works best for e-mails or posting to a forum . .

in this "users" page look for the link in the second paragraph (Image Resizer) to take you to the download . . . scroll down to near the bottom of the page to find it on the right side of the page.
