am looking for some detail about Mr. Raymond Barrington Brock who raced at Goodwood, holding the up-to 2 litre class in 1948, took part in Swiss hill climbs, firstly in a Healey, with a body largely built by himself and then a works Jowett Javelin. Success with the Javelin prompted him to design and build a complete rear-engined coupé, capable of 100 mph and 50 mpg, using a Javelin engine.

From about 1980 to '87 ex WD Jowett stationary engine. (Sold on)
From 1966 to present, 1930 Long Four Fabric Saloon, Dark Blue / Black.
Taken in a part-repaired state to the 2010 Centenary Rally, returned to a roadworthy state by 2013. - Given Name: Ian

This prompts me to ask about something which is in the back of my mind (no front since the op):-
Is it true that in about 1928, a Jowett broke the International Class 'G' Record (2 sessions of 12 hours each)? Despite blowing a couple of head gaskets in the process!
I believe the previous holder was an Amilcar (which I also part-own) and that, as this Class was discontinued, Jowetts hold it in perpetuity.
True? Any more? Story for Jowetteer?
