Jupiter bonnet struts

Post by Srenner »

Looking for a set of Jupiter bonnet struts (53222 & 53223), preferably as complete as possible. My alternative is to make a set, so if I go that route, is anyone else interested?

Thanks for the offer Drummond, but no need. I have a set here to copy and have repaired a few sets in the past. This will be the first set from scratch, as I suspect there aren't a lot of loose struts laying about. Not particularly tricky to copy, but the brass tube nut will be a challenge to thread. I do not have a bottoming tap anywhere near the original steel tubing size and certainly not whatever the Jowett thread is!

Of course, any advice on making them is appreciated.
