Looking at the club car register I noticed a Javelin that has been converted to automatic. As I don't know the member I am hoping someone in the forum can give details of the conversion.
What auto? & how well it runs?

Re: Automatic
Only just picked this one up....
There is a Javelin converted to Automatic in the U.K. It belongs to Trevor Shackleton in the Northern Section. He has put a huge amount of work into this and it was quite complex. I am not sure if he has managed to completely finish it as yet, as I moved from the Northern Section last year to the East of England. The last time I spoke to him the gearbox was in and the car was moving, but still needed more time to complete.

Re: Automatic
Hi David,
I was contacted about ten years ago about the Javelin in Melbourne (E1PC16007D) that had been converted to an auto, and while I didn't travel up to Melbourne to view the car myself, I recall that it had had a BW35 transmission conversion. The car was in poor condition but was up for sale at a low price and I soon found a buyer for the car within the JCCA. I understand that the car still resides with the buyer in WA - Ian Stewart. I know Ian fairly well and suggest you contact him via the email address in the club register for details of the conversion as I'm sure he will be happy to help.
I think that the original reason for converting it from column manual to auto was because it would be easier for the wife to drive; I don't know how successful it was though.
Cheers,
Andrew
