NEW BBCODE VIDEO AUDIO MEDIA

You may have noticed the addition of a [video] BBCODE to the posting tabs at the top of the message box. This took me half an hour to add to our bulletin board. Hope you like it!

It is used in the same way as [IMG] but with a link to a video on
•youtube
•vimeo.com
•dailymotion.com
•ustream.tv
•webm, ogv and mp4 files

For those wondering how the video is embedded. You first need to copy the you tube link from the address bar when the video is playing.

then copy just the locator (the bit before the question mark). This cuts out all the advertisements.

and then paste this between the video bbcode. (The "video" button just above the posting box.)

Note that the embedded video display does not work over the secure link (probably because encrypting video is processor intensive)
so viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3448 does not show video but http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3448 does.
However, clicking that insecure link drops your session and you have to login again.
It is therefore preferable to use a link to the video file as demonstrated in this topic earlier. Then the secure session is not lost as a new window is opened to play the video.
