Events 2016
Greetings from the Southern Section, we are all looking forward to the festive activities. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you all a Happy New Year. All is a bit quiet here on the Southern front. Ian Roxburgh has been busy supplying Club members with various Jowett parts from our own stores, which has quite a selection. Ian’s misfiring (not personally) that he mentioned in last month’s Jowetteer has been resolved – it turned out to be the HT leads. He had grafted a set of the modern silicon carbon filled leads from a Peugeot and they had worked for a good while, but eventually they had broken down. He then fitted a set of copper wire leads, as used to be, with the addition of NGK suppressed plug caps and it is all OK now. Ian took a visit to an old steam water pumping station in Brede, a village in East Sussex. It is still a pumping station run by Southern Water, but it doesn’t use steam nowadays. It is on display and working one day a month, but is now driven by compressed air and it’s huge! There are lots of exhibits on show and it has been decided to have a Southern Section visit in the Spring. My New Year resolution is to giveRust In Peace a new heart and sort out a decent engine for it as the old one has been on borrowed time for quite a while now. -John Champion.

Re: Events 2016
Good idea to post the Jowetteer Section Report here. I hope it may encourage others to enter their latest news here and then that could be 'reversed' into the next Section Report in Jowetteer.
My Fabric Saloon is now with the coachbuilders in St Leonards to have the fabric skin fitted, new interior lining and trim and all the seats reupholstered. These guys are the ones who did all the upholstery for Lynx (D Type Jaguar replica) cars, which were built locally. Their works might provide a venue for a Section Meeting one evening / weekend. I would be pleased to investigate.
I have completed entry forms for a few local rallies but I suspect that my car may not be ready until about mid-summer. Meanwhile I have two rear wings and a bonnet to strip, repair and repaint.
My son James and I will be marshalling at Eastbourne's 'Magnificent Motors' on Sat. 30th April and Sunday 1st May (See Tony?!).
Sadly, James's Capri that he has been working on for 15 years was badly burnt just after Christmas, but the good news is that Footman James sorted the claim without demur and a minimum of problems. Anyone for a low-mileage direct import Ford Racing 5litre V8 with about 500 miles 'on the clock'?

Re: Events 2016
The Feb Jowetteer has no Southern Section events. Are we planning any apart from Members Meeting and Revival at Goodwood?
I am planning to have a technical day or two in the Kings Langley Jowett Heath and Beauty Salon. I will speak with Chris at the weekend on dates. Those interested in coming along please contact me to sort mutually convenient dates.
