Nigel,

Well the Javelin Registrar should be able to give you an official answer, but for what it is worth here is my unofficial comment.

I have a personal project - very much work in progress - to combine into a computer file all the Javelin Registers issued by the club since I joined in 1978. On this I note last known "spot" of the car, either by creditable mention in Jowetteer or by personal observation. I once was involved with the compilation of a preserved bus book for Ian Allan and that was an awfully big job, because it involved contacting all known owners, but since Javelins are merely a matter of interest, I have limited it to just keeping my eyes open and my ear to the ground with full acceptance that something might slip through. However, since 2013 - a date picked because these cars will definitely still exist unless some very recent catastrophe has taken place, there are 8 cars older than yours that I have noted as existing. Certainly not all will be roadworthy of course and indeed one mention was an appeal for restoration help. Hope this is of interest.

Hello Nick.
Your last post made me remember that I have photos of all four Javelins that my (now deceased) friend Bob Mercer of Accrington owned. I bought the second one HWT 727 from him many moons ago for £12, kept it for 6 months, until it needed servicing, - much more complicated than my pre-war - when I sold it for £14..... £2 profit...RESULT!!
Perhaps it's outside your reference range, but I expect the photos will be of interest to the subsequent owners, especially if they are signed up to JowettTalk.
I've a feeling that I can only attach three photos to post, so the post above/below should contain a photo of Bob's 4th Javelin.
All the best for the New Year to you and anyone else reading this.

Bob's 4th and final Javelin - very well known because of the number plate.
