Javelin racing in Donington

Post by Moises Jr. »

Hi all, I had no idea that there was a javelin in the 2015 HRDC races, and looking jowetts on flickr gallery, I met Julian Crossley or Corssley in Donington, is an authentic beauty, especially if you do not expect something. I would like to find information of the project, I have language difficulties, to read everything I would like. Knowing of the existence of a Javelin at racetracks look on youtube, but found only a few laps in Donington behind a 500 Abarth.

Is this not a good advertisement for the Jowett Car Club?

It is equipped with aluminum wheels?

Un saludo!

Hi, I think his name is Julian Crossley, but in some photos is labeled with the name of Julian Corssley. In this video one can sense his Javelin in the interior mirror, until the accident that brings out the safety car. It seems that the top speed is not the strong point of Javelin, I have seen videos that reach the 105mph with pre 60 cars, amazing!

Hi. I've seen in a post of many years which spoke of draft Julian forum. Having spent so long without news or pictures of the project, I thought that would have been aborted. This is great news see a javelin at race tracks, almost as much as returning to a section SC team working in garages!

Un saludo!

I have contacted Julian and hopefully we will get a report on his day at the races.

The video showed a couple of cars parked on the track, one on its roof, so they must have been trying! The video does show one of the issues in this racing which is the slower cars having to watch out when being lapped.

Donnington was the only circuit I hit the tyre wall in the Jup having altered my shock absorber settings after practice to try and get some more road holding. I hit a bump on the apex of the corner that the following week Damon Hill warned of in his demo lap prior to the British GP there. Many lessons learnt. Walk the track, speak to marshals, and do not tinker!
