Re: JCC Stand at the NEC Restoration Show
I wonder how many thought the Bradford with its lights on may have been an early Volvo?
The devil is in the detail!
Re: JCC Stand at the NEC Restoration Show
One of the car guys in the local motor factor just asked if it was a Series 1...
I have just got back from the supermarket, and Classic Car Weekly are already running coverage from the show, with photos of the Bradford (and me and Amy) as well as a few very positive comments from us about the show too. Remember you've only got a few days to pick it up, so worth getting to the shops over Easter.
Jack.

Re: JCC Stand at the NEC Restoration Show
All - Apologies for my slow response but the day job is very much in demand of 99.9% of the hours that I spend awake - at least I now have a few days off to recover
From the outset of the show being announced I had a gut feel that it would be of great benefit to the club if we could be granted stand space for the show, and only after several direct conversations with the organisers & promise of what we has a club could offer the show were we allowed the stand - this was against strong competition from much larger classic car clubs for the limited stand space. The layout was simple - Barn found Bradford van, Javelin shell undergoing a full bare metal restoration along with Amy's award winning SC Jupiter which was restored four years ago - the logistics were difficult within such a small timeframe along with considering that all members that undertook the logistics have demanding day jobs - our intention was to demonstrate club supported restoration along with raising the clubs profile - without doubt we very much ticked this box - the stand was presented to very high professional standards and exceeded all of my own personal expectations. In addition to this we are very confident that we have gained at least two new members - but then go on and win ' Stand of the Show' left me somewhat speechless (I know it does not happen often)
My personal thanks to all that helped, encouraged, supported & visited - teamwork always wins !!
Special thanks to Richard Gane for the invaluable help in the logistics & storage department
Has for Jack Moon - who pulled all the stops in organising the show display editing / printing / laminating - procurement - logistics etc - what can I say
Amy & Sharon for the behind the scenes support along with the many other things that they put up with - (Sharon arranged the 'Jowett' logoed smocks and they will be soon made available for sale to order)
Finally the show organisers were highly delighted with the clubs commitment - so much so that they have already committed to offering the club a larger 5 car stand for next years show - we already have some great ideas and if you would like to be involved please don't hesitate at getting in touch with me.
Thanks again to all involved - Chris

The club stand features twice on the show promotion video - myself briefly bolting the N/S/F wing up and the Bradford display a little further in - web link below

Re: JCC Stand at the NEC Restoration Show
The stand drew a great deal of interest from the public & classic car press alike, Peter Pfisters Javelin bodyshell was repaneled whilst the grille was reassembled at the show

Re: JCC Stand at the NEC Restoration Show
Hi Robin, will have a go on our way up to Alaska next year, if that ever comes off!
Over the last couple of weeks I have been preparing some exhibits for the 2015 show.
I completed a pair of Javelin carbs for Rupert Knapton and today completed a pair of Jupiter carbs for Jaak Jacobs.

Variouspictures at different angleswill help future rebuilds as it is easy to forget how they go back together.
Also some master cylinders were dug out of the cellar and cleaned up, ready for rebuild at the show.
