Sorry we couldn't be there, sounds like it was a really good event but sadly other commitments got in the way for us this year.
So how was it? Please post a link if you have got your photos online yet or included in the Gallery.
Jack.

On the whole a great weekend which the weather attempted to marr but really got its timing wrong and managed monsoon characteristics only overnight!
More major marr was the absence of Geoff Wills who had a serious accident on his journey up. Best wishes to you and Christine, Geoff, we missed you! especially when everyone had to put up with me on Sunday night instead of you!

Have you played your novel present from the Rally yet?
I dusted down the Technics direct drive turntable (circa 1995) and switched it on. I selected the correct input channel on the Sony Audio Visual amplifer (circa 2007) which amazingly had remembered the correct settings and proceeded to bypass all the digital processing that occurs on CDs, DVDs, and TV channels I sat back and turned up the volume. Cad Callaway and his band came through wonderfully without much crackle and scratch, allbeit with a little compression and distortion on the loud notes. My foot was soon tapping along.
Thanks guys and gals , a great idea.

Everything went 'swimmingly'!!
Thanks very much. I'm looking forward to next year already when it's in the North West region.
Tony.
P.S. I haven't played my record yet, but am looking forward to listening to it, and yes, it was a great idea Alf.

One hundred and ninety one (-ish) people sat down to the Saturday evening meal. Only three of us who were present have commented on the Rally up to today (3/6/14) on this website. Where are the plaudits? Are you overwhelming Hon. Ed. with content instead? From what I gathered at the Rally, everyone had a splendid time despite the weather. Why don't you say so?
I've added a few photos of the gathering to my album on the Gallery, so if interested, ....TOPIC

Hi Tony and all
I've sent an email to Hon Ed by way of thanks but here goes via the Forum
Despite the weather it was a splendid 'do'. It's a beautiful part of the country (but you knew that anyway!)
The hotel was excellent. Friendly, helpful, cheerful staff. The company was as ever wonderful.
People rallied round especially David Morris, Tony Fearn and others to sort out my front wheel bearing to avoid the ignominy of being transported home on the back of a breakdown truck. Thanks everyone.
A great weekend.
Thank you all who organised it

Re: International Rally 23-26 May 2014, Darlington
Just a note to say that I attended the rally though sadly, sans car so confined myself to the static gathering in the wonderful surroundings of the Bowes Museum. It was the first time in well over fifteen years that I have popped my head above the parapet and was very interested to see the cars assembled there - some known to me, others fresh faces. Well done to all who assisted with the organisation. I am posting some pictures I took on my Flickr pages. However owing to the way Flickr is organized, if one wants photos to be seen by known "contacts" then it pays to not post over 4 at one time. Strange I know, but I have tried more and the viewing figures just fall off. So I will be posting over a period of the next few evenings. I have all my Jowett photos assembled in one album, here:https://www.flickr.com/photos/21640011@ ... 061025593/

Nick
