Barely Salvageable Parts - Free

Post by PJGD »

I used to live near Guildford, Surrey, and at that time I owned (and still do) some woodlands near Pirbright (just behind what was at that time "Clarks of Pirbright", a one-time Jowett Main Agent). Then some 36 years ago, my employer (Lucas) transferred me out to Detroit where I still work. Just over a week ago, I was back in the UK and was able to visit my property at Pirbright where I stumbled on some Jowett parts that I had left behind in my haste to relocate. I seem to recall that I used to have there a 2-cylinder WD engine and a pre-war 4-cylinder engine but I think that I gave away most of the good stuff before I left. I now no longer remember what got left behind., so I was surprised to find the parts that I did.

These photos show a pre-war gearbox, a steering column, and two steering wheels, one of which is from a Javelin. All of it is much the worse for neglect and exposure, but if anyone wants these items they can send me a message or an e-mail and I can explain where they are.

Should these parts be of use to anyone, my office is on the outskirts of Guildford (Albury) - I can arrange to collect them and deliver to the Annual Jowett Rally at the end the end of the month if need be - PM me once you have made arrangements with Philip and I will plan a mission to collect them.

I am glad that someone may be able to put them back on a Jowett!
