I got some polyurethane torsion bar bushes from Jim whilst in LA for the Jupiter. But they do not fit the Jav so I have done some research and found this rod which could be turned on the lathe to fit. http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... -ROD2.5-70
A 1ft rod should make 9 bushes. the outer diameter required is 64mm but this is not critical as it is a flange. The main cylinder is 54mm outer and 37mm inner (approx.) What you cut out of the centre, if done with a hole saw, might be used to make suspension bushes. Shame to waste so much material!
Removing the old bushes from the chassis mounting ring and lower arm required air cutter and air saw, and hammer and chisel. I tried using my new toy, a 12T press, but there was nothing to push on! Although I hoped to reuse the two cylinders that surrounded the original rubber bush, I think they will need considerable fettling!
I have two new bushes from JCS to fit but not sure if there are any more in stock and hence the alternative source.
