This is interesting...I know a couple guys in resto who have done this and are very pleased

And for Aluminium...not electolyis as above...engine casings carbs etc
Clean off all dirt, grease
mix up teaspoon cittic acid out of the spice cupboard in 1/2 cup warm water
Apply with a fine brass wire brush...dont scrubb...
but keep damp over several hrs...wash off and give a light buff.

If corrossion is real bad, 50/50 soln battery acid and water...wear cloves
And doint leave on too long Sulphuric acid and Alumoinim is very reactive. Dont use on carbs.
