Note the underscore in the email address. Bill kindly informed me that the requests system did not handle this properly and so after a morning of research I have fixed it. The request system now fully checks the address as per RFC 5322 (sections 3.2.3 and 3.4.1) and RFC 5321 – with a more readable form given in the informational RFC 3696[3] and the associated errata. I hope!
Even Hotmail does not follow such guidelines!
There is a move to include international characters into email addresses at which point I may give up. Chinese is not my strongpoint.
