CD dimensions

Post by george garside »

Whilst there is aa fair bit of anecdotal info available about the CD's I have not come accross much in the way of hard data. Does anybody have basic info on eg wheelbase, track, overall length, hight and width. Also for IOE twin power output at ? rpm , maax torque at ?rpm ( I have seen power refered to variously between 30 & 34bhp) capacity ( I have always assumed it to be 1005cc but have never seen this or any other figure quoted anywhere) Max speed and cruising speed ????? etc etc etc. Also have any engineering drawings survived and if so can they be put on the website??

Perhaps our friends in New Zealand know more about them than we do?

I have a chat to my Dad. He may know. He had owned CD vic has (CDR3).
If he does not know I get him to ask Vic when he next sees him.

am still hoping for info on dimensions of CD!! The reason I would like them is because I am trying to make a scale model and some 'hard' dimensions would greatly assist the accuracy which at the moment I am using guesswork and some scaling from photos

I checked with Vic and also my Father. Dad can't get into his office to check his info that he got on the CD. When he does I will update info.

Wheelbase- 8ft

Track- Vic was unsure. He did say it is wider than a Jav.

Overall length. ???

Hight. ??? Vic suggested if you talk to Simon Wood to find out that info. He may know.

Width. ???

IOE twin power output at- Started at 32 but though some more development managed to get it to 34.

max torque at ?rpm. ???

Max speed and cruising speed. ??? Suggested to contact phil green.
Vic did say that the guy that owned CD 17 said he could get it to 70.

Have any engineering drawings survived. Not of drawings. Only cut away photos.

Sorry I cant be a better help with this yet :)
If I hear from Neil Moor I try and ask him.
