Bradford van EKU 872

Post by Tony Fearn »

My wife Hilary has a long-time lady friend whose cousin (90 years old) used to have a Jowett many years ago. He wonders if it is still around, and would be interested in knowing anything about it since it left his possession. He writes to Hilary's friend:-

1946 to 1948. Jowett Bradford van received in grey/green primer from Thomas Gorton, local free-lance vehicle agent (could have been ex-works Bradford). Registration number EKU 872.
We had it sprayed black and signwritten as follows:-

J. Holden
High Class Bakers and confectioners
608 Blackburn Road
455 Halliwell Road

Like all vehicles at that time (it) had semaphore indicators, starting handle, single wiper.
Each tax renewal whilst in our ownership was at Bolton Motor Vehicle Taxation Office.
Subsequent owners unknown.

Does anyone know if it's still around, or have memories of it?

Tony.
