I am pleased to report that Alf and Audrey Heseltine attended the classic car
rally in Thornton-le-Dale on Sunday 26th May, where they took second prize in the
post-war classics class in their lovely 1954 Javelin – the last Javelin to be registered in
the UK; well done to both of you.
On the 9th June Jane took me for a trip out, my first since having my right knee
replaced on 15th May; we went to Scampston Hall’s Vintage Weekend. We were
pleased to see Roy and Anne Sumpner in their 1934 Long Saloon. We also enjoyed
meeting Graham Austin and Lorraine O’Brien in their lovely British Racing Green SA
Jupiter registered LDG 988. It was a cool day, but it stayed fine throughout which made it a very enjoyable day.

13th & 14th July: North Yorkshire Moors Railway Vintage Vehicle Weekend; entries

iwolstencroft@iwolstencroft.karoo.co.uk This will be the 20th Anniversary Rally, so
they are hoping for a bumper turn-out of cars. NB there is an entry fee of £3.00 again
this year.

1st - 4th August: Pickering Traction Engine Rally. For entry forms ring Simon Boak on

3rd – 4th August: Croft Nostalgia Weekend.
7th – 8th September: (?) 'Fangfest' – the Fangfoss Fair Weekend, near Driffield; Roy &
Anne Sumpner should have more information about this event nearer the time.
7th & 8th September: Hunton Steam Gathering.
