Moving JowettNet to the 21st century

Post by Forumadmin »

Over the 10 years of Jowett.net things have become a bit disorganised as technology progressed. You can still search for things on it, and it will remain as it is for a while yet.

But just like I moved JowettTalk into the 21st Century at the start of last year; JowettNet will gradually be superceeded by an album structure on JowettGallery.

The contributions section of JowettNet will emigrate to your own albums under JowettGallery.

The technical section has already started. Upload your technical articles into your albums and, if you want, we can move them into a logical structure under the technical library high-level album.

Similarly the section events and Jowett Weekends can be first recorded in your albums and then moved, if desired, into an historical record. Note there is a good search facility on JowettGallery; so you should be able to find what you want.

What is really good is you can make comments on any item and so build up the technical or historical record. We thus have a much more interactive web site.

I also hope it takes a load off me trying to keep things up to date.

Encourage your sections to start using the site; just like New Zealand has.
Help others to start becoming part of our website.

The organisation and structure of JowettGallery will change as more is added. This will improve the presentation of the immense library which it will become.

I have loaded the first article into the technical library on JowettGallery, TOPIC
just to give a taste of the capabilities! I know the article may not be presented in the best way; but this can easily be improved by using different facilities within the Gallery. Experiment and enjoy!
