Chassis number.
Where,if at all is the number stamped on early 30s frames please?

Hello Nigel,
I don't think that there is a stamped number on the chassis.
The chassis number is the same as the original engine number. The latter is punched into the aluminium of the timing case top, which can be seen if the nearside bonnet flap is raised. (eg my '34 short saloon's number is 477773, the '4' denoting 1934
If there's no engine, then you'll have to revert to the original registration document which shows the number.
