Our recent Section A.G.M. was attended by nineteen members and it produced few changes, except that you will have a new Section Secretary as of early December 2005. Clive Warren has kindly volunteered to take on the role, and the meeting quickly voted him in - even though he couldn’t attend?
I must take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, and I look forward personally to a more active Jowett year in the next twelve months.
The first meeting for the new year will be at Holton St Mary village hail on the 4th February, when we will gather for a friendly game of boule and watch a video. I will leave it to Clive to reveal more of next year’s programme as the year progresses.

Firstly, our congratulations go to Mary and Peter Young on becoming grandparents.
Mary's daughter and son-in-law Peter have provided them with a grandson, Ethan, born
on February 1st and we send them all our best wishes.
We started the new year with our first meeting on Saturday, February 4th at the village
hall in Holton St Mary and were pleased to welcome a total of nineteen members, - and
one Labrador dog. The programme for the evening was a friendly round robin game of
boules organised by Keith Patchett, and for those waiting their turn a chance to watch the
excellent Eden Lindsay DVD of the Basingstoke Rally 2005, thanks to a TV and DVD
player brought along by Patrick Hemphill. Watching the DVD, it did not seem possible
that it was eight months ago, and for those of us who attended Basingstoke it brought back
wonderful memories of an excellent rally. Once the boules match got under way it was
quite evident that it was going to be very competitive and I was only too glad that I had
made an end stop for the pitch, or the hall would have suffered structural damage. The
eventual winner was Michael Cross, who received a bottle of wine for his sterling efforts.
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, 19th of March when we are visiting the Secret
Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch, Essex at 11am, refreshments and souvenir shop
available.
Our section Spring Lunch is on Sunday April 30th at the White Horse, Pleshey.
We look forward to seeing you all during the coming year.
